A Sad Farewell

For the past two and a half months, we've had Jonathan's mom, Marilyn, staying with us as she visited from out of town. We had a lot of fun as we spent time with her for the first time in over three years. But even more exciting, she was able to spend lots of time with Edison. It's hard to believe how fast the time went! She arrived when Edison was only two and a half months old and now he is approaching 5 months! It was sad as we said goodbye to her today. Jonathan and I will miss her. But even more sad is the fact that the next time she sees Edison he will be 1 year old!

Over the past couple of days we spent a lot of time together, hanging out as well as running around doing last minute things that needed done for her long trip home.

Hanging out at the usual place.... Starbucks!

Bye Marilyn! Safe travels! I will try to keep the blog and facebook as updated as I can. We'll miss you!

My First Parade

On Saturday evening we decided to get into the Christmas spirit and go check out the Maple Ridge Santa Clause Parade. As far as I know, I've never been to a parade before, or if I have I was too young to remember. As enjoyable as it was to hang out with friends and family, I have to say the parade itself didn't blow me away. I guess you can't expect too much from a small town like Maple Ridge. The parade (or poo-rade as Jonathan likes to call it) was long, quite slow moving and a little lacking in content. To top it all off, it was freezing cold outside. We didn't even last until the end of the parade. After about an hour we opted to go home and drink hot chocolate in the warmth of our house instead.

However, it was still a fun evening and a reminder that Christmas is just around the corner. Hopefully my next parade is a little more exciting.....and a little less freezing.

Edison was nice and bundled

The parade wasn't exciting enough for Edison, he quickly fell asleep

My Bouncing Baby Boy

Edison LOVES the Jolly Jumper. From the moment we brought it home and put him in it, he has loved it. He goes in it many times a day and sometimes stays in it for over an hour! He truly is a Jolly Jumper Baby.

He's come pretty far in a month. At first he just stomped around, happy as can be. Now he is actually jumping in it, and loving every minute of it. The videos show the improvement from the beginning of the month until now, at the end of the month.

This was him on November 6th, not that long after we bought it.

This was him yesterday, November 29th.

Intro to the Exersaucer

Edison is slowly starting to figure out these things he has called hands. He is starting to reach for things, especially his toys. Although his accuracy leaves much to be desired, he tries hard. Once he has a toy in his little grasp his main goal is to get it into his mouth. Its quite the entertainment (for me anyway).

He loves the play mat and has recently started reaching for its dangling objects. Now that he's a little bigger we decided to see if he'd enjoy the exersaucer. Sure enough, he loves its assortment of new toys he can now reach at.

Edison't First Taste of Snow!

Today was our first real snowfall of the year, and from what I've heard, it is just the first of many this year. We decided to go out and enjoy it while it lasted as they predict it will warm up and be raining by tomorrow. This was Edison's first encounter with the snow.

All bundled up and read to go out
