Fun at the Home Show

Every Spring and Summer there are a couple of fun events that happen in our town. In May we have the Maple Ridge Home show, which we check out every year. We also have Country Fest in August which is also a must see in this town.

This weekend was the Home Show which was a lot of fun... and extremely HOT! We have been having a great spring so far with lots of beautiful sunny weather... but this weekend has felt like summer. It is only the beginning of May and it was 32 degrees outside today... we melted! To top in all off, I was carrying a sleeping baby Davis in the wrap, which is about the equivalent of having a 12 pound hot water bottle strapped to you. So we were a bit warm, but we still had a lot of fun.

I love walking through the home show and looking at all the stuff, but Jonathan and Edison could really care less. For Jonathan the highlight is always all of the food trucks, including the must-have mini doughnuts. This year, for Edison, the highlight was all of the rides! Edison did a couple of rides with Jonathan and then once he was feeling more comfortable, did some rides all by himself. This was his first time doing rides on his own and he had a blast. He waved every time he went past us... it was so cute.

Their first ride was Choo Choo Charlie... Edison wanted to sit up front and got to ring the bell

Edison loves carousels

Waving at me

His first solo ride... driving a big purple truck

And of course he had to fly an airplane!!

It was so much fun watching Edison enjoy the rides... he could have stayed there all day. However, these rides was a little on the pricey side. We are looking forward to spending a day at Playland this year and really getting our fill of rides... Edison will love it!
